The classification module allows you to add a document separation verification step into the lifecycle, which happens before document indexing.

There are three main uses of the classification module:

  • Manual Separation - This method allows the user to manually separate documents.
  • Fixed Separation Review - If you define T-Patch, Barcode, or DocuNECT Separator Sheet separation methods in your lifecycle, then the operator can review/correct the separation before continuing to index.
  • Automated Separation Review - This allows a Document Category and Sub-Category to be defined in the cabinet indexes. Templates can be used to define the how different documents can be identified. In this instance the operator will see the Document Category and Sub-Category pick-lists by each document, if they have been identified.

Setting Up Automated Separation

Automated, or rules-based, separation analyzes documents based on business rules implemented in a CDT data table. The rules define the location of word and phrases and certain pages to identify documents types.

Building the CDT Data Table

The rules for each template are stored in the following table structure:
