If there are errors, or unexpected behavior, during the installation process the msi based installers it is recommended to add logging as a command-line parameter that will log all information to a defined text file for reference.

Non-DocuNECT Web Components

Note, it is recommended to locate the msi installer file in the same folder where the commend line is run from.

For install:

msiexec /i  <setupfile.msi> /Lv* <logfile.txt>

For uninstall:

msiexec /x  <setupfile.msi> /Lv* <logfile.txt>

Where:
<setupfile.msi> - The name of the msi installation file.
<logfile.txt> - The name of the text file that will contain the installation information.

DocuNECT Web

For DocuNECT Web instances, you can install and uninstall them with logging using the WebHosting.exe. There is a place to add parameters. Select either the install or uninstall in the pick-list, then type in the instance name, and in the additional parameters textbox enter: /Lv* <logfile.txt>

Where:
<logfile.txt> - The name of the text file that will contain the installation information.
